I recited this free as an ARC for my honest review. I loved reading Special Agent Francesca. Mimi keeps you turning the pages and routing for Frankie the strong, independent lead character. I can't wait to read the rest of the FBI Undercover series. I read the Vegas series a few years ago and couldn't put it down either....I own the box set as well as most of the books individually because of how they were offered at The time. Defiantly an author that delivers strong female leads and page turning action and mystery.
I received an ARC for an honest review. One that is very easy to write, given the quality of these 3 books. Absolutely loved them, they are all so different, yet all intertwined. I had already met the other 2 strong women and most of their partners with the first book. Truly, they are all so interesting, they all 3 totally held my interest and I am delighted to have been given the chance to read them. I now intend to read every book Mimi puts out, having read these 3 unputdownable (is that a word, lol?) books..
These three books feature independent strong women who are out to do their job in the face of all odds. The two books from the Vegas series speak of women detectives in the city who are out to prove themselves better than the men. And of course then there is Special Agent Francesca from the Undercover FBI series, who is out to prove that she is more than capable of handling herself without her influential mother's meddling. If you enjoy reading about women who are trying to prove their worth in a male dominated job and succeeding, you are going to love all the books in this set.
Mimi Barbour has carved her own place in the world of espionage and thrillers. She walks a high wire without a net and is as good as any writer in the marketplace today balancing romance and humor and hardcore suspense. If you are searching for pure, unadulterated entertainment, read Special Agent Francesca.
Francesca is determined to prove that she has the talent, the skills, the dauntless determination, and the courage to become a first class undercover agent. She knows the risks. She is not afraid to take them. However, she never realized that one of those risks might be falling in love with a man she can’t afford to love. She has more than one battle on her hands, and readers get to ride along to discover how she solves her personal dilemma, as well as the crime confronting her. It is definitely a ride worth taking.

Let it Ride Book #6 – Vegas Series - Detective Lisa Jordan joins the Vegas squad and brings her own skills and humor into the suspense and romance throughout the story. Additionally, she recently became the guardian for her young nephew and is learning how to be a parent.
I like strong female characters and these books definitely met that expectation! If you like these type of characters also, then you will enjoy all the stories in this set. They will hold your attention from beginning to end. I am looking forward to reading more books by Mimi Barbour. Good read.
I found this captivating, it has a richness, with three dimensional characters and a riveting plot. The opening chapter is fierce, grabbing the reader by the throat and not letting go. The following couple of chapters are both violent and then poignant, arousing a different set of emotions, with a domineering highly intelligent mother Kathleen Donovan and an introverted daughter, Francesca, an undercover FBI agent who hides her introversion under a brittle mask. The author cleverly combines the harsh elements with sensitive emotive qualities to develop a complex personality that fascinates and ensnares Sean Collins, a psychiatrist and LVPD profiler. The author has the reader on the edge of her/his seat as the plot develops. Francesca can kick ass as hard as any man, she’s a force to contend with in a fight against the odds.
In the first couple of chapters she finds her long lost Dad, John and siblings, so I am not giving away any spoilers, Then just as she bonds with a step-mother whose as warm as buttered toast, the plot explodes and Francesca brings out the big guns on one roller coaster of a ride.
Vibrant complex characters, a twisting plot, chilling and inescapable, a real page turner.

Storytelling of three cops, all women. Found the story very interesting, the characters likable, the humor enjoyable and how they kick ass!!!
